Unlike traditional museums, interpretive centers do not usually aim to collect, conserve and study objects; they are specialized institutions for communicating the significance and meaning of natural and/or cultural heritage of an area.  PVIC’s curated exhibits employ different techniques to enhance the visitor’s personal understanding of heritage of the Palos Verdes Peninsula and surrounding waters.
